The Rodney Street Conservation Area is noted for its outstanding Georgian architecture and the number of doctors who choose to have their consultancies based there. Rodney Street itself, built between 1780 and 1840, was designated a Conservation Area on 31 July 1968 and extended on 17 November 1976 is one of the finest examples of a Georgian street in the country and many of the houses have associations with famous people. It is considered 'outstanding' in the national context by the Historic Buildings Council and boasts over 60 beautiful Grade II listed buildings. Only a few minutes walk from the city centre and main railway stations, Rodney Street is well signposted and easy to find. Please click on the link opposite for a map of the area. |
